SAG Awards: The winners
Denzel Washington won the Screen Actors Guild Award for best male actor in a leading role Sunday.
Washington won the Actor for his performance in the adaptation of August Wilson’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play “Fences,” which he also directed.
In an upset, Washington beat out favourites Casey Affleck (“Manchester by the Sea”) and Ryan Gosling (“La La Land”) for the award, as well as Andrew Garfield (“Hacksaw Ridge”) and Viggo Mortensen (“Captain Fantastic”).
