The Voice SA: Tough challenges await the contestants

The Battle rounds in the Voice SA continue this Sunday with some of the audience favourites from the Blind auditions facing tough challenges.

One of them suffers a serious bout of tonsillitis in the week leading up to the all-important Battle which determines whether she will go through to the next round.

Another one has to come to terms with the fact that his coach doesn’t want him to use his musical instrument going forward, and then coaches Karen Zoid, Bobby van Jaarsveld, Lira and Kahn decide to pit some of their strongest contenders up against each other too.

Popular singer Thembeka Mnguni, who impressed everyone with her powerhouse performance in the very first Blinds episode finds out that she will have to go head-on with the equally popular duo Blaque Harmony.

Viewers will also see how Prime Zulu and Jeremy Olivier, who both had all four of the coaches turning their chairs, struggle with difficult songs.

Luckily, these singers – as well as the other determined talent facing strong competition - still have a little bit of hope. Coaches Lira, Kahn and Bobby have not used their “Steals” yet, which means that performers who don’t make the cut still have a chance to join another coach’s team. But will they use these Steals this week, or will they wait to see what happens in next week’s final Battle Rounds?
