Off-duty JMPD officer, two others killed in Vlakfontein

Three people - including a Johannesburg metro police officer - were shot and killed at a tavern in Vlakfontein, south of Johannesburg on Saturday night.

Metro police spokesperson Wayne Minnaar says an unknown number of suspects entered the tavern and robbed people of their possession and money.
Three other people were injured in the attack.

Minnaar says the off-duty officer did not have his service pistol with him at the time of the robbery.
"The suspects shot six people in total, two men - one being the off-duty officer - and one woman died on the scene and three others - one woman and two men were taken to hospital for gunshot wounds.
"The off-duty officer was in private clothes and did not have his service pistol on him."
No arrests have been made.
