16 children injured in Centurion taxi crash

At least 16 children have been injured in a taxi crash.
ER24 says the taxi collided with a car on Hammerfest Road in Centurion this afternoon.
ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring says when paramedics arrived on the scene, the children who were occupying the taxi were seated on the pavement.
“Paramedics assessed the patients and found that a total of 16 had sustained injuries ranging from mild to moderate. Fortunately, no serious injuries or fatalities were reported,” Meiring says.

Of the injured, 13 were transported to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment.
“Three remaining patients declined transportation to a hospital. The cause of the collision is not yet known, but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.”
