18 School kids injured in minibus accident
Eighteen people, mostly schoolchildren, were injured on Monday morning when two minibus taxis collided on the M25 near Inanda, KwaZulu-Natal paramedics said.
Crisis Medical spokesman Kyle van Reenen said when paramedics arrived on scene they found some of the injured people freeing themselves from the wreckages.
“It’s alleged that one of the taxis' brakes failed causing it to collide into the rear of the other,” he said.
“All of the injured were treated and stabilised on scene by Crisis Medical before being transported to various receiving medical facilities nearby for further assessment.”
Van Reenen said the morning traffic was severely affected and the authorities were on scene to assist.
