35% of adults in SA now fully vaccinated against Covid-19

More than 14 million adults in South Africa above the age of 18 have now been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 virus.
This translates into 35%, which is halfway to the government's target of reaching “herd immunity” through vaccinations.
Statistics released by the National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD) show that a total of 14,031,159 adults have now received either the one shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine or both doses of Pfizer against Covid-19.

However, new Covid-19 cases continue to increase with 868 cases reported on Tuesday.
This is a representation of a 2.1% positivity rate.
Fifty-one more fatalities were also recorded, which brings the total number of Covid-19 deaths to date to 89 635.
