600 informal structures destroyed in Ekurhuleni blaze

The fire was contained from spreading but by Saturday late morning fire fighters were still trying to put out the fire.
At least 600 informal structures were destroyed on Friday night in a a devastating blaze in Ekurhuleni.
The city's disaster officials said in a statement approximately 1500 people were displaced with only one injury reported.
The patient was transported to Far East Rand Hospital for further patient management.

"Approximately 30 firefighters from 5 stations within the city (were) dispatched to the incident with 3 major pumps,1 Rescue, 1 tanker and 3 grass units," said Ekurhuleni emergency services.
