Acsa lifts SA Express suspension

The Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) lifted the suspension of SA Express on Friday.

The airline was grounded earlier this week as it faced mounting financial and operational woes.

 

ACSA says SA Express has now made a partial payment towards settling its debt but confidentiality prevents it from disclosing exactly how much the airline owes.

 

SA Express spokesperson Mpho Majatladi has confirmed that all operations resumed from midday on Friday.

"SA Express confirms that all operations resumed from midday today.

 

"The first flight took off at 14h40 for Lubumbashi followed by flight to Bloemfontein at 15:00.

 

"The SA Express staff at the airports will continue to offer assistance to our passengers. Passengers can also contact our reservations department (011 978 9905) for assistance.

 

"SA Express apologises and regrets the inconvenience that this has caused to all its passengers."
