Air search for DA NWest leader in Nepal suspended
Updated | By ANA
The air search for missing Democratic Alliance deputy leader in the North West province, Petro Nel, and the Russian pilot of the plane that went missing in Nepal, has been suspended.

The DA’s Nicolize van Der Walt said on Monday: “The air search is suspended for now. The ground search is, however, continuing and they are focusing on specific areas. Like we explained before, the area with the deep ravines and woods makes the search extremely difficult and dangerous for all who participate.”
The party said the families of Nel and the pilot were supporting each other as they waited for news.
Van der Walt said Nel’s husband, JC Nel, was already in Nepal and his two sons joined him on Monday.
“JC and the wife of the Russian pilot, Mrs. Nina Putin are supporting each other while they are waiting for news on their loved ones.”
Petro Nel was on a holiday in Nepal and was on a sight-seeing excursion over a mountainous area when contact was lost with their light aircraft on October 8. - ANA
