The Gauteng Department of Health has confirmed the Alexandra Community Health Centre has been reopened.

The facility was shut down on Saturday after a patient was stabbed to death while being assisted by a nurse.
An unknown group of people allegedly stormed the clinic looking for the man and subsequently killed him.
The motive is still unknown and no arrests have been made.
The clinic shut its doors to allow police to conduct investigations.

The department’s spokesperson, Khutso Rabothata, says staff members who were on duty at the time of the incident will receive counseling.
“We are in the process of sending them through to psychologists who are taking care of the debriefing and counseling.”
He says the department will also address concerns about safety.
“We had a meeting with the clinic management and the management of the Alexandra police station, we had a successful meeting, but today we are meeting again to deal with the safety and security issues, we will then decide going forward how we are going to ensure the safety of our staff and patients.”
