Setshwantsho faces charges of murder, two counts of fraud, and defeating the ends of justice after she was linked to the death of her niece, Bonolo Modiseemang.

A bail verdict was expected on Friday; however, the matter was rolled over to Monday after the state requested a postponement to prepare its response to new facts brought by Setshwantsho's lawyers.

"During submissions from the defence attorney, it emerged that they had new information not contained in their original affidavit they used as evidence in their application for bail.

"We requested a postponement for us to prepare a proper response to the new information, but we were prepared to continue with our closing arguments," said the North West National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson, Henry Mammothame.

The state has argued that Setshwantsho, who was nabbed through a sting operation in Centurion last November, is a flight risk.

The court has also heard that threats were made on the life of investigating officer sergeant Keshi Mabunda.

During his evidence as state witness, Mabunda, who is known for his part in the arrest and prosecution of convicted insurance killer Rosemary Ndlovu, told the court that he is investigating other deaths that could potentially be linked to Setshwantsho.

Setshwantsho's lawyer, Nhlanhla Mahlangu, has accused the state of sensationalising its case against his client.

Mahlangu also told the court that the 49-year-old's health would be compromised should she remain incarcerated.

He also says her right to prepare for trial adequately would be affected, as consultations between herself and her legal team have been curtailed.
