Updated | By Masechaba Sefularo
The Molopo Magistrates’ Court has on Thursday postponed the case against Agnes Setshwantsho to 22 May, for the Director of Public Prosecutions in the North West to authorise the transfer of her case to a higher court.
Setshwantsho is accused of killing her relatives to benefit from insurance policies.
On Wednesday, the remains of her police officer husband, warrant officer Justice Setshwantsho, were exhumed as part of ongoing investigations against her.

Setshwantsho faces murder and fraud charges linked to the deaths of her son, and niece Bonolo Modiseemang.
Following the exhumation of her son Kutlo’s body in Kuruman, in the Northern Cape, the accused was charged with his murder.
North West National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Henry Mamothame says the state wants to combine the cases.
“The state is also preparing an application for centralization in order to have the murder case that is being heard in Kuruman, relating to the death of her son, to be combined with the case in the North West division.”
Setshwantsho was denied bail in December 2023, after the court found she was a flight risk and could try evading trial.
