Alleged killers of ANC councillors caught on CCTV

Police have released CCTV footage of a suspect who is believed to have gunned down two African National Congress (ANC) councillors in Mokopane, Limpopo.

In the footages released by the police, the man can be seen fleeing the scene on foot following the killing.


 


In July the two victims, Sanny Valtyn Kekana and Ralf Kanyane, were ambushed by an unknown gunman who opened fire on them while the two were sitting in a vehicle at a shopping complex.


 


The two victims died at the scene.




Kekana was chairperson of the Municipal Public Accounts Committee in the Mogalakwena Municipality, while Kanyane was a branch secretary of the ward 10 branch of the Mogalakwena Sub Region.




Provincial police spokesperson, Motlafela Mojapelo, says police are offering a reward for up to R25 000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspects.


 


“We are making an appeal to anyone with valuable information that can assist the police in apprehending the suspect or suspects to come forward, or anyone who can be able to recognize the person running in the footage or picture.”
