Among the suspects was a man police say was filmed attacking a security guard.

Chaos erupted at the stadium after Kaizer Chiefs lost their Nedbank Cup semi-final clash to Free State Stars.

Spectators stormed the pitch after the final whistle, with some angry fans attacking security guards and damaging millions of Rands worth of property and television camera equipment.

Only one man was arrested on the night, but police have been working around the clock to bring the remaining suspects to book.

Inside court, Magistrate Mohamed Motala had strong words for Siphosenkosi Knowledge Memela, John Sibongiseni Khumalo and Khwezilomso Madiba.

Motala called the incident a very serious one, saying it cast the country in a bad light.

The court heard that Madiba allegedly kicked a security guard, Memela destroyed a television camera with a box and Khumalo took a camera.

Some of the violence and vandalism inside the stadium was caught on camera. Several fires were also started in the stands.

Bail was unopposed and the men were released on R1,000 each.

Motala imposed strict bail conditions, including that the men are banned from attending football matches until their cases are finalised.
