ANC birthday revellers urged to obey rules of the road

The Department of Community Safety in Mpumalanga has urged ANC members attending the birthday celebration to obey the rules of the road.
The party will deliver its January 8 Statement in Mbombela on Saturday as part of its 112th birthday celebrations.
Since the start of the year the province, multiple people have died on the province’s roads, including crashes in crashes in Balfour, Carolina and Ermelo.
"We call on motorists who will be coming to the capital city for these celebrations to obey the rules of the road to avoid the deaths and injuries emanating from motor vehicle crashes,” said Community Safety MEC Vusi Shongwe.
"This will only happen when they obey the rules, not drinking and driving, ensuring the roadworthiness of and along resting sufficiently along the road particularly when doing long trips.”
