ANC retains Rustenburg Municipality
Updated | By Suné du Toit
Rustenburg Mayor Mpho Khunou has been re-elected at the inaugural council meeting on Friday.

Malebane Metsing from the Forum 4 Service Delivery was also nominated, but only received 43 of the 89 votes.
The ANC's Sheila Mabale-Huma was elected as speaker earlier this afternoon.
The ANC failed to get an outright majority in the local government election.
Opposition parties have 46 of the 89 seats and would have taken the municipality from the ANC if they voted as a block.
ANC members celebrated the win, filling the hall with song, in contrast to this morning when EFF members inside the chamber closed the doors to the Civic Centre, refusing entry to ANC members.
