ANC’s Gauteng conference to be concluded in July

The ANC’s newly elected Gauteng chairperson Panyaza Lesufi says the province will conclude its conference in July.
It adjourned the four-day provincial conference without electing provincial executive committee officials, with only nominations taken after the election of officials.
Lesufi told the media on Tuesday that the conference will wrap up its business on 9 and 10 July.
"When we say all its business it means going to commission, receiving commission reports, finalising our policy position and also finalising the election of the provincial executive committee members ."
The conference did manage to elect its new top five leadership, with Lesufi voted in as the new ANC chairperson in the province.
“It is important to note that the majority of the provincial officials are women, and this is the first in our province and a major stride for women leadership, not only in our province but in our country as well,” said Lesufi.
“This communicates a clear message that the ANC has a place for our women."
