ANCYL defends the Guptas

The ANC Youth League (ANCYL) has once again expressed its full support for President Jacob Zuma.

The league briefed the media following its National Working Committee meeting at Luthuli House today.
"President Zuma is the President of the ANC, so he's not going to malls. He's not shopping for acceptance, because he was elected by congress. So, he remains President and all of us in the ANC support him until next year when his term ends in 2017. We are not going to be told by the media, which is controlled by white people, what to think and what to say about our leadership...and yes, we appreciate that there are challenges facing out movement," says ANCYL President Collen Maine.
Amid growing concern over President Zuma's fitness to hold office, Maine remains defiant, saying President Zuma will never be recalled.
The league also told former Public Protector Thuli Madonsela to stop behaving as if she is still in office.
Maine also says he has met with the Gupta family and sees no problem with them.
"If I want to go to the Guptas, I will go. I am not prohibited by any law of the country not to go there. To me, they are not a problem. I'm engaging them and my other stakeholders," says Maine.
