Another ANC MP resigns

Former Deputy Finance Minister, Mcebisi Jonas, has resigned as a member of parliament.
According to the office of the ANC Chief Whip, Jonas' resignation is effective from the 31st of March.
His resignation follows President Jacob Zuma's recent cabinet reshuffle which saw Pravin Gordhan removed as Minister of Finance alongside Jonas who was his Deputy.

"Comrade Jonas has served both as Deputy Minister and MP with absolute distinction and dedication. He has also served the movement and the South African people in various capacities over the years," the Chief Whips' spokesperson Nonceba Mhlauli says.
The chief Whip thanked Jonas on behalf of the ANC in Parliament for his "selfless service" to the movement as its public representative.
"We are confident that he will continue serving the country and our movement in other capacities in future and we wish him well," she says.
