Another horror school rape

It was supposed to be an evening of great memories and fun.

A 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped on the evening of her matric dance in September.
The Grade 12 farewell event was held at a lodge in Bronkhorstspruit.
Gauteng education MEC Panyaza Lesufi says a 28-year-old member of the local Community Policing Forum has been accused of the crime.
Lesufi visited the high school in Mamelodi on Monday after parents and pupils alerted him of the incident.
Lesufi says the accused has been suspended and subsequently arrested.
"It was around 02:00 when the school was doing a roll-call when they identified that the young girl was not there. That is when they went looking for her," he explains.
Lesufi says they are investigating allegations that the suspect was in a sexual relationship with the victim and two other young girls at the school.
The MEC says the parents when attempting to open a case were initially turned away.
"The police station turned them away and referred them to a different police station, because the incident happened in Bronkhorstspruit," the MEC explains. "I am completely disgusted."
At least 87 schoolgirls have reported to have been sexually assaulted by a guard at a Soweto school.
The shocking news made headlines last week – several months after the school was first made aware of it.
On Thursday, Lesufi removed the principal and her management team with immediate effect.
