Areas of Tshwane spending weekend without water
Updated | By Mapaballo Borotho
Residents in several areas of Tshwane were left without water on Saturday and Sunday following a total Eskom power failure at Rand Water's Palmiet pumpstation.
Friday's power failure which occured saw the Brakfontein reservoir running empty.
The reservoir level was at 10% on Saturday morning, and too low to sufficiently supply the Akasia reservoirs, as well as the Hartebeeshoek Reservoir that feeds the Soshanguve L Reservoirs.

The city's spokesperson Spokesperson Selby Bokaba said the current levels will result in the Sosha L reservoirs running empty, should the water consumption pattern continue.
"The Akasia reservoir is empty, and the Hartebeeshoek and Soshanguve L reservoirs have dropped to low levels as a result.
"Residents in Soshanguve and other areas in the city that are still receiving water are requested to please use water wisely, sparingly and when it is absolutely necessary to assist the system to recover and stabilise.
"If the current high water consumption patterns continue, unfortunately, more reservoirs will run dry leaving more areas without water," said Bokaba.
