Arrests made following more Uber violence

Police have arrested three suspects after an Uber vehicle was set alight in Pretoria.

A grey Toyota Corolla was set alight on Jeff Masemola Street in the Pretoria city centre. 


The driver escaped unharmed.


Police spokesperson Mavela Masondo says they are investigating a case of malicious damage to property.


"We received a call to say metered taxi drivers were at the Gautrain station trying to stop Uber drivers from picking up passengers," says Masondo.


This is the second incident of violence against in Uber drivers in Pretoria this week.


An Uber driver was hijacked and assaulted in Sunnyside in Pretoria on Tuesday.


The three suspects will appear in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court.
