[AUDIO] Economist: Power cuts may lead manufacturing industry into recession
Updated | By sibahle motha
The manufacturing industry is down by 0.5% in February according to data released by Stats SA recently.

Investment Solutions economist Chris Hart says a recession is possible due to the continued power cuts by Eskom.
Manufacturing makes up 13% of the South African economy, and inadequate power supply may see the industry shrink.
"Manufacturing is such an electricity driven sector. It's usually difficult for manufacturing to recover after power cuts have been implemented," he says.
