Basic Education Department satisfied with day 1 of matric exams

The Department of Basic Education (DBE) says that it is satisfied with the first day of the matric exams.
Close to 800 000 pupils across the country sat down to write their first English paper for the 2022 National Senior Certificate Exams on Monday.

Spokesperson, Elijah Mhlanga says the department is pleased with how examinations kicked off.
"Despite the rain in parts of KwaZulu-Natal there were no reported disruptions in all provinces," he says.
