"Blesser Ramokgopa" to blame for Hammanskraal violence: EFF
Updated | By Slindelo Masikane
The EFF in Gauteng has blamed the ANC and Tshwane mayor Kgosientso Ramakgopa for the violent protests in Hammanskraal outside Pretoria over the past two days.
"We have reliably learned the ANC government under the 'blesser' Kgosientso Ramokgopa hired the Red Ants to evict poor black people who have settled on unoccupied land in Hammanskraal," MPL and spokesman Nthobeng Nthobeng said.
During a sitting in the province's legislature today the EFF called for the ANC to be held personally responsible for deaths and the destruction of property.
Nthobeng stated that the ANC is determined to keep poor South Africans in a permanent state of homelessness by destroying their homes and evicting them during the winter months.
During a media briefing ahead of the house sitting Co-operative Governance MEC Paul Mashatile said they were still awaiting a report outlining the issues.
"Allegations are there about ANC councillors, but investigations are underway and we will respond appropriately and issue a statement," he said.
