Limpopo police are hunting for an unknown number of suspects following the murder of a well-known local businesswoman and her daughter at their home in Polokwane.
Lizette Deacon (55) and her 70-year-old mother Hettie Deacon were the owners of a local Ocean Basket franchise.
Limpopo police spokesperson Motlafela Mojapelo says a neighbour spotted traces of blood in the home when her went to visit them on Thursday night.
Both the victims were missing.
"The police were called, and a search operation was immediately launched,” says Mojapelo.
“The bodies of the deceased were found with several stab wounds, tied inside their motor vehicle which was found abandoned along the R37 road next to Kushcke off-ramp. This after a high-density search operation that was launched soon after the attack.”
Police have launched a manhunt for the suspects.
"The motive for the killings is unknown at this stage but robbery cannot be ruled out. Cases of two counts of murder and house robbery have been opened," says Mojapelo.
