Body of missing toddler found in Hartbeespoort Dam

Police spokesperson Colonel Sabata Mokgwabone confirmed that divers had located the body.
“Police divers resumed their search for the boy this [Monday] morning and during the course of the operation located the body,” he said.
While he confirmed that an inquest docket had been registered, he could not be drawn to comment on the identity of the child.
NSRI spokesperson Craig Lambinon had reported that a Pretoria North family were aboard the craft that had capsized while towing an inflatable tube.
The family included a husband, wife and two children: a young daughter and the boy who would have celebrated his 2nd birthday in June.
Lambinon said it was believed that no one on the boat was wearing life jackets.
The 4.5-metre rubber duck capsized about 300 metres from the bank of the dam near the Eagle Waters resort on Sunday afternoon.
All the occupants of the boat landed in the water when it capsized and the little boy did not surface after disappearing underwater.
