Baloyi announced that he would be joining the uMkhonto Wesizwe party.

He held a media briefing on Thursday afternoon in Dube, Soweto, where he was welcomed by MK Party supporters from its Johannesburg region.

He is the latest politician to join former president Jacob Zuma’s party.

Baloyi started  Xiluva after his resignation as ActionSA’s Gauteng provincial leader.

Baloyi joined ActionSA in January 2022 after terminating his membership in the DA in December 2021.

He was a member of the country’s official opposition party for 14 years.

He believes Zuma's party is the right one “to lead the forces of the left”.

"The time for fragmentation is over. We tried at the elections, but we noticed that people endorsed and appreciated MK because there was a need. So, when we look at MK, we see ourselves.

"They told us to go and consolidate with other parties that are funded by the Oppenheimers and we resisted. We stand here with a clear conscience because we see ourselves in MK. We are going to deregister Xiluva with the IEC effective immediately, and we will all join the uMkhonto weSizwe party.”
