Bumper start to Easter weekend

Heavy traffic volumes are being experienced on all major roads at the start of the Easter weekend.

Up to 1500 vehicles were leaving Gauteng an hour on Friday morning, the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) confirmed.
Tens of thousands of people are taking advantage of the long weekend and making their way to various holiday destinations.
RTMC spokesperson Simon Zwane says: "The roads are still very busy, especially the N1, N2, N3 and N4."
Motorists are advised to drive with caution.
"People must avoid speeding, maintain a safe following distance and keep their headlights on," Zwane says.
Several motorists have already been caught speeding and driving under the influence.
Heavy traffic volumes is expected on roads leading to as thousands of ZCC members make their way to their church's headquarters at Moria in Limpopo for the Easter weekend.
Traffic authorities in the province conducted a roadblock on the N1 yesterday morning.
Limpopo Transport MEC Mapula Mokaba-Phukwana said motorists who do not obey the rules of the road will find themselves facing the full might of the law.
