ACSA's Deidre Davids, however, says flight to the airport have so far not been affected by the storm.
"We haven't had any floods impacted as a result of the poor weather conditions at the Cape Town airport this morning," says Davids.
Davids says all of the outgoing flights departed as scheduled this morning.
"The first flight left at approximately 05:50am. We are still expecting our first incoming flights and there should ideally be not flight disruptions if the weather holds," says Davids.
Meanwhile, employers have been asked to be lenient with employees who cannot make it to work today as schools in the Western Cape have been closed as a precaution.
