Case against Lenasia minors postponed

The case of the three minors arrested in connection with a shooting incident in Lenasia has been postponed pending the social worker's assessment report.

The boys appeared at the Protea Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
The three boys - between the ages of 14 and 17 - were arrested following a shooting outside the MH Joosub Technical Secondary in Lenasia, southeast of Johannesburg, on Tuesday.
Two Grade 12 boy learners from the same school on their legs this morning whilst walking to school.
The victims were rushed to nearby clinics.

Spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in Gauteng Phindi Mjonondwane says they are also waiting for legal representations and preliminary inquiry to be conducted.
"The 14-year-old was charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition, whilst the 15 and 17-year-olds were charged with attempted murder and illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.
"Furthermore a 50-year-old - who's also the father to one of the minors and also the owner of the firearm - appeared before court charged with negligent loss of a firearm."
The minors are kept at a place of safety until their next court appearance on Thursday.
The father's case was postponed until August 30 for further investigation.
