‘Chester loved every one of you’

The widow of former Springbok wing Chester Williams has told the University of the Western Cape (UWC) rugby team they made her husband strong and "were his life”.
Maria Williams spoke at her last husband's memorial service at the university on Monday.
The 49-year-old Williams died of a suspected heart attack in Cape Town on Friday.

An emotional Maria called the players, whom Williams was coaching at the time of his death, on stage during the service to thank them for their unwavering support.
She said that the team should never lose their passion and to carry on striving for greatness.
"You all made him strong. I want you to know Chester loved every one of you. You were his life and you will always be his life.
"And I want to urge you to never lose the fire and the passion and remember what he taught you about teamwork and to continue to strive for excellence. I know he is up there watching us right now and let's keep his legacy alive and continue to celebrate his life. he would want us to."
