City of Joburg calls on SAPS to take action in Rosettenville
Updated | By JacaNews
The City of Johannesburg's MMC for Public Safety Michael Sun, has called on police to use crime intelligence and investigate cases of arson in Rosettenville.

The call comes after chaos and violence erupted during a protest in the Johannesburg suburb yesterday.
Disgruntled residents targeted alleged drug dens and brothels and set them alight.
"I rushed to the scene when I received information of the chaos from a ward councillor. When I arrived one house was already on fire and it was later reported at least 15 houses were set alight," Sun says.
He confirms the city is stepping up its efforts in dealing with the situation.
"It will take cooperation of the residents to increase efforts in dealing with crime in the area. As much as we are all in the fight against crime, we cannot allow residents to take the law into their own hands and risk the safety of bystanders," he says.
