Hardin Ratshisusu was appointed on an acting basis for the next six months, while Oliver Josie was reappointed as acting deputy commissioner for the same period.
"Both Ratshisusu and Josie are part of the executive management of the Competition Commission, with Ratshisusu serving as divisional manager for mergers and acquisitions since March 2014, while Josie has been in this current role since 2013," Patel said in a statement.
He believed the appointments would help the commission's work, which included promoting economic transformation.
