Northwest Police are on the lookout for a con artist who has been scamming people by pretending to be provincial Premier, Supra Mahumapelo.

Northwest Police are on the lookout for a con artist who has been scamming people by pretending to be provincial Premier, Supra Mahumapelo.
According to the spokesperson for North West government, Brian Setswambuung, the man recently contacted a Member of Parliament, requesting financial assistance for a student, who was reportedly stranded in Cape Town.
"He pretends to be Mr Mahumapelo, speaks like him and creates a story to the people from whom he wants to extract money," explains Setswambuung.
He told the MP the student was the son of an old acquaintance of President Jacob Zuma's, who needed him to transfer R 2000 into his account.
However, the MP became suspicious and reported the matter to the police.
Setswambuung says the man is very convincing and several other cases have been reported.
Four cases have been reported in Gauteng, Eastern Cape, Western Cape and Limpopo.
