Cop Thapelo Molomo wins SA Idols season 18
Warrant Officer Thapelo Molomo has been crowned the winner of season 18 of SA Idols.
Molomo outshone Nozi Sibiya, who made it to the top two after a tough journey.
The 29-year-old works as a psychologist stationed at the Brits police station in North West.
Molomo, who hails from Bakenberg village outside Mokopane in Limpopo, began his career in the SAPS as an intern within the Psychological Services Section and was later employed to serve as a trauma counsellor in the same environment.
He is a registered counsellor attached to the Employee Health and Wellness component, and is responsible for providing counselling and psychological interventions to alleviate mental health ills for police members and their families.
Police Minister Bheki Cele said Molomo is a beacon of hope for many police officers who are faced with psychosocial challenges.
"He has illustrated to thousands of officers that hard work, determination and perseverance are the foundation of any successful human being. We cannot wait to have him back in the office to continue serving our men and women in blue.”
