Cope withdraws from Parliamentary activities

The Congress of the People (Cope) have withdrawn from parliamentary activities.
The opposition political party says the ANC's refusal to act against President Jacob Zuma has made it "guilty of contempt of court".
The decision follows an executive committee meeting in Johannesburg on Monday.
The meeting considered the Constitutional Court ruling on the Nkandla matter.
Cope spokesperson Dennis Bloem says: "The Executive Committee therefore resolved not to allow any Cope representative in the National Assembly to take part in its proceedings until there is clarity from the Constitutional Court on how to proceed."
Bloem confirms the party will approach the ConCourt to seek clarity on the way forward.
"We will have a meeting with other opposition parties, and will with them, approach the court.
"The Congress of the People is determined not to make itself guilty through participation in activities that are in contempt of court. Our representatives cannot break their oath of office," Bloem says.
The ConCourt on Thursday 31 March ruled the president failed to uphold, defend and respect the Constitution by failing to implement the remedial actions set by Public Protector Thuli Madonsela.
