Cops caught selling ammunition, bulletproof vests

A 46-year-old policeman and his 50-year-old alleged accomplice have been accused of selling police equipment to criminals.

The pair will appear before the Durban Regional Court on Monday.
Hawks provincial spokesperson, Simphiwe Mhlongo says the policeman, who is based at Bayview Police Station, was arrested on Friday.

"They were selling fake equipment and live rounds of ammunition, bulletproof vests, pepper spray as well as the police uniform," he says.
Police say the investigations continue.
