Corporate SA needs to do more in fight against abuse
Updated | By Olivia Phalaetsile
The founder of DNA Brand Architects, Sylvester Chauke, has called on the business sector to get more involved in the fight against gender-based violence and violence against children.
Chauke runs a company that manages and promotes local brands.
He spoke to Jacaranda FM News as part of the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children.
"I think that there is a lot we can do, particularly in our corporate environment and businesses to offer assistance for staff members. Growing up in the corporate environment, you always hear about abuse but there is a lack of support structures to ensure victims are being assisted," says Chauke.

Chauke believes there is still space for more conversations around abuse.
"In my experience a lot of these conversations happen between women among women and men among men. I think it's important that the conversation is happening across the board, so it's not just women together talking about what they are facing, but then men and women can have a conversation about both sides."
