Cosatu: Covid-19 corruption courts will rehabilitate ANC's image
Updated | By Neo Motloung
Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) believes for the African National Congress (ANC) to rehabilitate its image; setting up special Covid-19 courts is a step in the right direction.
This follows reports that the governing party's Nationa Executive Council resolved this past weekend that government should set up special courts to fast track combating Covid-19 corruption cases.
Cosatu's Sizwe Pamla said the union welcomes the move by the ANC.
"This is what we have been calling for. The ANC needs to really show that it is serious about arresting the looters and perpetrators.
"It is unacceptable that people of this country who millions of them are struggling to have a meal a day are subjected to this nonsense by ANC connected people.
"For the ANC to rehabilitate its image, this is the first step in the right direction, but we will only judge this commitment not only by its intentions but its results," said Pamla.
