The Democratic Alliance (DA) has called on newly elected African National Congress (ANC) president, Cyril Ramaphosa, to prosecute President Jacob Zuma on charges of corruption.

Opposition leader, Mmusi Maimane has drawn up a 'to-do-list' for Ramaphosa, stating if he fails to adhere, he shows 'they practice their corruption together'.
Ramaphosa has taken over the reign as party leader from President Jacob Zuma.

Maimane argues that the ANC as a party cannot recover from the alleged corruption of officials because the 'party itself is held together by glue of patronage and corruption.'
"Ramaphosa has stood in Jacob Zuma's shadow for years, silent in the face of his crimes and the crimes of fellow ANC comrades.
"His first act as ANC President must be to recall Jacob Zuma as President of the South Africa, prosecuting him for his corruption charges, and jailing him if he is found guilty," said Maimane in a statement released on Monday night.
