Celebrations following Ramaphosa win
Non-voting delegates from the African National Congress (ANC) and
supporters of newly-elected ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa were celebrating the
deputy president’s victory outside the Nasrec conference centre on Tuesday
night.
Some have been sleeping outside the gates of Nasrec anticipating the announcement of the results of the top six leaders of the ANC.
Roads around the conference centre were closed as they sang and danced to songs praising Ramaphosa.
The ANC supporters say the newly-elected ANC top six will ensure unity in the party.
