he party believes the report should be considered alongside a finalised Eskom inquiry report, which is due to be released soon.

The 600-page report detail's alleged irregularities at Transnet and Eskom over the past six years and fingers former home affairs minister Malusi Gigaba for compromising the procurement process of new Chinese locomotives.

Former Eskom executives also face possible criminal charges over the power utility's deal for coal with Gupta-owned Tegeta.

The report also revealed that senior officials at the power utility lied to Parliament and may have received bribes.

The report recommended that former Eskom executives Anoj Singh, Matshela Koko, Suzanne Daniels, Ayanda Nteta and Edwin be investigated by the Hawks for assisting the Gupta family in receiving a R659-million payment to purchase Optimum Coal Mine.

The report also implicates Transnet officials and former Eskom and Transnet CEO Brain Molefe for allegedly contravening  Section 57 of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) for failing to take effective and appropriate steps to prevent irregular, fruitless and wasteful expenditure.

The DA's Natasha Mazzone says the report demonstrates how state capture at state-owned entities involved former president Jacob Zuma and his ministers.

"These reports paint a picture of how state capture at state-owned entities were seemingly orchestrated by the ANC president, supported by ANC ministers and ANC appointed executives.

"The onus is now on (President Cyril) Ramaphosa to come clean and set the record straight when he testifies at the Zondo commission into state capture, he has a responsibility to play open cards and admit what role his party played in the looting of the public's money."
