Updated | By Suné du Toit
The death toll from the massive storm that hit the Western Cape has risen to nine, following the discovery of the body of a 3-year-old child.

Western Cape Local Government MEC Anton Bredell told a press briefing that they just received the news.
"We found a 3-year-old's body, bring the total to nine fatalities since we started with this disaster," says Bredell.
Five people were killed during the storm in the Cape Town area, while three others were killed in the Knysna fire.
Another Knysna man died following a heart attack, but authorities say it is not related to the fire.
Bredell says 34 schools have also been damaged by the strong winds and flooding.
"We are now trying to get the situation under control and to save as many lives as possible," says Bredell.
Bredell says they will now start assessing the damage and rebuilding structures.
"I am grateful provincial treasury is part of the team, because that will be part of the planning going forward. We will assess the damage at the 34 schools as well damage as hospitals and bulk infrastructure supply."
