Driver dies after truck veers off N3 near Hammarsdale
Updated | By ANA
The driver of a heavy duty truck was killed on Monday when his vehicle left the N3 highway near Hammarsdale.

ER24 spokesman Werner Vermaak said when paramedics arrived at the accident scene shortly after 4am they found that the driver, estimated to be in his 30s, had succumbed to his injuries.
He was declared dead at the accident scene.
“At this stage it is not clear if the driver of the truck was flung from the cab during the collision or if he jumped out of the cab shortly before the crash,” said Vermaak.
The truck was halfway down an embankment and traffic authorities had to close the highway while clearing the accident scene.
The cause of the accident was unknown.
Hammarsdale is about 40 kilometres from Durban, almost midway between Durban and Pietermaritzburg.
