Eastern Cape man to appear over ex's rape
A man is expected to appear in the Butterworth Magistrate's Court on Monday in connection with the rape of his ex-girlfriend in Newrest, near Butterworth, Eastern Cape police said.
The 21-year-old man was arrested on Friday night in connection with the rape of the 18-year-old woman, Captain Jackson Manatha said on Sunday.
The man apparently arrived at his ex-girlfriend's sister's house and demanded to see the 18-year-old.
"The suspect was ignored but he went inside the house where he grabbed the victim and dragged her to his house which is also at Newrest Township Butterworth," Manatha said.
He then allegedly raped her. Police arrested the man hours later.
