The 50-year-old suspect appeared before Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday following his arrest on Monday.
The suspect is believed to be the victim's boyfriend, Clayton Andrews.
The organisation’s Themba Masango, who attended court proceedings on Wednesday, says the suspect has pleaded not guilty.
"Clayton Andrews appeared in court earlier today wanting to plead not guilty and try to see if they will grant him bail.
"We managed to speak to the prosecuting team to say that should the suspect be given bail the community says his safety cannot be guaranteed moreover we are of the view that the perpetrators of such heinous crimes... should not be granted bail until the case has been heard."
Andrews is set to appear in court again on June 24.
