EFF heading to ConCourt to impeach Zuma
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) will approach the Constitutional Court (ConCourt) on Thursday to institute impeachment proceedings against President Jacob Zuma.
The EFF’s spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi says the president's conduct around the Nkandla scandal means he is not fit to hold office.
“This is associated with the Nkandla scandal, including the president's lies to parliament on several occasions."
He says they have written to the Speaker of Parliament Baleka Mbete many times, but their calls have fallen on deaf ears.

“We approach the ConCourt as a last resort based on the belief that Zuma’s conduct around the Nkandla matter, both inside and outside Parliament, renders him unfit to hold the high office of the President. The speaker’s office has ignored our calls instead EFF MP’s have been met with violence," says Ndlozi.
The Democratic Allaince (DA) has tried to impeach President Jacob Zuma on several occasions in Parliament, but lost the vote each time.
