The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has revealed that its leader Julius Malema addressed a packed Orlando Stadium at the weekend despite suffering a "personal loss".
In a statement of "gratitude on a successful manifesto launch rally" the EFF on Monday said "we want to thank our CIC (Commander in Chief) Julius Malema for his contribution despite the personal loss he suffered on the death of his aunt and EFF member".
The EFF said: "The CIC not only delivered a great address to our people at the stadium, he also attended to the EFF Gala Dinner and delivered yet another inspiring revolutionary speech".
The EFF added: "We once more express revolutionary condolences to him and his family as they will be laying to rest Mama Nurse Malema tomorrow."
She will be buried in Limpopo.
In the statement issued by EFF national Spokesman Mbuyiseni Ndlozi the party also thanked it "ground forces" and "structures" for the party's successful manifesto launch rally on Saturday.
"The EFF would also like to thank all the people of South Africa for their support, from the communities of Orlando in Soweto, to the millions who switched their televisions on to hear the message of hope." - ANA
