EFF thanks supporters for 'successful rally'

"The size and quality of the manifesto launch rally confirms what [Julius Malema] said that the birth of the EFF was a birth of a giant, which was born and already could partake in meaningful activities," the party said in a statement.
"The EFF has grown by leaps and bounds and its ideological and political clarity was unveiled in the victorious manifesto, which is a summation of the demands and interests of the working class and the poor in South Africa."
The EFF launched its election manifesto at the Mehlareng stadium in Tembisa, east of Johannesburg, on Saturday.
Thousands of supporters dressed in red T-shirts and the party's beret attended the rally.
The manifesto launch was held just a kilometre away from the Makhulong stadium where the African National Congress Youth League was holding an election festival.
On Monday, the EFF apologised to those members whose names were on bus lists but could not get transport to the event.
However, it said the party was here to stay and those members would get the opportunity to attend other "coming bigger events" soon.
The EFF urged all its members to read the manifesto and become familiar with it.
"All members of EFF are asked to speak to a minimum of 20 people per week about the manifesto and make them understand its content and why this is the only solution for South Africa."
